In this project, I was inspired by the juxtaposition of a human form against a grid. Whereas a grid is static and confining, a human is not; humans are in constant motion. With this in mind, I created a completely reversible poncho that contains 4 elastic drawstrings, snaps, and hooks that allow you to wear the poncho over 30 different ways. Along with the poncho, I created a pair of shorts in which I took out the "blue" streaks/stripes in the print to create a more solid purple stripe in the short.
Materials used: Cotton print, nylon, elastic, plastic cord ends
I would especially like to thank Nicole Miller, Matt Francis, Maya Samach, Sarah Morse, and Elpi Saranti for supplying the print, modeling, photographing, and everything else that went into making my creation.
